Overplayed? He only had 384 AB's and logged only 651 innings in the OF. That's not a lot. His numbers were due to playing at Yankee Stadium. His road numbers are more of who he is and he's been on the decline the past few years.

    Home: .273/.349/.545 .377 wOBA
    Road: .208/.269/.365 .275 wOBA

    2009: .378 wOBA
    2010: .343 wOBA
    2011: .306 wOBA
    2012: .325 wOBA

It's pretty safe to say he'd be around his 2011 numbers if he played almost anywhere else but Yankee Stadium.

The only reason I'm interested in this signing is b/c of all the arrogant Yankee fans who assumed Ibanez was coming back to Bronx on some one-year, $2 million deal. lol, back to Seattle where he'll enjoy looking down at Houston and up at everyone else

Is that sarcasm? I bet you most ball parks wouldn't carry those balls out that Ibanez hit coming off the bench.

How does he help us? His numbers will drop significantly without Yankee Stadium where the ball just carrys out of the park and he can't play the OF especially in Safeco he was bad at it even in his younger years here.

And if they DH him it means that Morales plays 1B, which prevents the M's from giving Smoak or Montero a chance to start.

Not that Smoak has proven anything, but you'd think they'd want to give Montero regular at bats in the majors. He sure isn't going to play over Jaso (at least vs RHP), Morales or Ibanez. They're not going to leave these guys in the majors just to be backups or just to face lefties.

So either someone needs to be traded or Smoak/Montero are going to be demoted.

Vic Mackey: You better figure out how much you hate me. And how you're going to deal with that. 'Cause I'm not going anywhere.

This sums up every sports interview, ever.

Even with Smoak in AAA, that still puts Jaso out of work.

    Vs. RHP
    Ibanez DH/1B
    Montero C
    Morales DH/1B
    Jaso?

    Vs. LHP
    Morales DH
    Montero C
    ? 1B

Such a weird move. I think Ibanez will be playing 1B, DH and LF a few times a week. He'll probably get the least ABs out of all the 1B/DH/C types.

How do you know the team needs that? They need good players and he's far from one.
    I'm In.
