Would You Draft Kobe or Wade To Run Your Franchise?

Both are rookies. You have the first pick in the draft, who would you draft first?

If they were rookies right now, I would take Kobe. Kobe is the better all time player, and will also have a longer career than Wade. However, if they are rookies in 2003, I would rather have Wade over these last 10 years. Not because I think he is better, but because I dont think we would have Lebron right now. I feel Lebron came to Miami because Wade was not only willing but wanted to share the spotlight with him. Kobe would not be willing to do that with Lebron. I doubt Lebron would want to come to another mans team. People say he came to Wade's team, but Wade wanted to bring him in, its not like he just showed up, he was invited.

    Injuries aside I'd draft Wade.

Has been a much more willing passer and team oriented player over his career, and doesn't have the ego Kobe does. Players have often told the tales and pitfalls of playing with Kobe. There is a laundry list of guys who talk about the difficulty they've had, while I can't find one of those type of stories about a player talking about difficulty playing with Wade.

Kobe is the better overall player at his peak, but not a significant enough gap to put this main factor aside.

Well the correct question would be... Would Kobe be capable of winning multiple championships with past HEAT teams?

Other than 2006 I don't think so... So... Gimme Wade!

Wade without any doubt. He's a team first player. He would do wonders with the teams Kobe has had throughout his entire career.

Wade, pretty pointless to have this in the heat forum. We love Wade down here.

is this a serious question? I'd draft a young wade or a young kobe any freaking day

kobe ain't even start when he was a rookie. he was a bench player on a super star team.only reason he is so good now is because of longetivity

depends on what you're looking for i guess. team player and greater peak vs the lone wolf with prolonged excellence. wade's best year is better than kobe's and wade had the best finals pretty much ever in 06. i go with wade, the injuries suck though but at least you know hes willing and able to play with other big ego stars doing what he has to in order for it to work. also your franchise won't be dragged through a damaging rape case as well.

This is Wade for me. I know Wade can take a franchise that never won anything and turn them into a champion, I don't know that with Kobe as he went to a franchise that was in 24 finals and won 11 titles before he ever stepped foot on the floor while Wade went to one that was in 0 finals and won 0 titles before he ever stepped foot on the floor.

    Thanks MJ-Bulls for the picture.

why does that matter? how does a franchise having championship beforehand have any effect on the present?
