The Yankees are trying to limit the payroll as much as possible and transition to the young kids in the next season or two.
My friend: I think the NBA payed off the Heat in the first yr because of the politics. They threw game four and they payed Lebron because they were angry with what he did. So he had pay one way or another.
There is no one in the draft coming out and trading players isn't going to happen. The Lakers are in trouble.

I agree, wanting to put a good product on the field is not spoiled and squeezing the money doesn't allow that. I'm not saying they should have gone crazy but come on here, we gonna go with Dickerson, Romine and Nix and expect to win!

Well Romine will probably be the starting C this yr if they don't trade for a catcher. Then there are players like Heathcott, Williams, and Austin for the outfield. In the bullpen we have Montgomery. If Cano doesn't come back maybe Adams is at second.

That could happen this yr because they have lost players but haven't made up for the loss in production. Swisher was frustrating at times but he did produce for the team since he joined the club.
