Sourpuss must feel like a moron right now turning down $12M.
So,in essence, we traded:
Swisher
Martin
Ibanez
For
Youkalis
Itchy
Romine
And a First Round Pick
While saving $80 million in payroll.
That is huge net win!

I can see us trading for upton and then turn around and trade graderson to texas or just let him walk as a free agent and get the pick. I just dont understand how some of these guys are signing one year deals and we arent even in on it. Cashman has to be working on some trades.
^ I'll actually be smoking the good stuff soon![]()
Is Hanrahanarhan that much better than Melancon?
I don't get that trade.

Rangers onto round 2
Knicks WAKE UP
Yankees 25-14 1st place
Cowboys 8-8
Been a Yankee fan since the days of Mantle, Ford etc and I'm really perlplexed as to what they are doing , or shoud I say not doing this off season. Are the Steinbrenner boys that broke? Are they tying the organization's hands to put a viable contender on the field in 2013? Do they think they can fill those high priced seats with a third place team in the East? While the pitching for 2013 seems to be OK, everything else is totally askew.
Letting a decent young catcher go for unwillingness to pay about 15 million for two years. While I like and wanted Ichrio back we sign a 39 yera old to a 2 year contract. We sit on our hand while all avaiable decent right hand hitters are going elsewhere, even Scott Harriston, who would be good for say a two year contract will probably be lost due to the Yankee lack of dealing. Maybe we can trade for a few needs and I feel Nunez is a capable ML hitter if given a proper chance but I don't want to be sitting there in July 10 games out and know the Yankees did nothing to be contenders this year. So Cashman and the Steinbrenner Boys, what's up???????
