He's one of the best LH relievers in baseball.
Why not let Girardi catch?
Sure, it's sports, and no one can fully predict anything. But, on paper, we are not better than last season and do have a ton of question marks. I mean, sure, Cervelli could hit 30 HRs, but based on his past we probably should expect him to be abysmal, like he's always been.
And I am excited about the season. I do hope to see Romine, Adams, Montgomery, and possibly others contribute to the big league club. But I don't think it's unreasonable to look the players we've lost and the ones we've signed and think we're probably not as good as last season.
Our payroll would have been much better if they kept Austin Jackson and Ian Kennedy....we would not have needed Burnett's crap deal, had to deal with Granderson's deal as well...of course AJ came a year earlier but if Kennedy was given a fair shake then maybe the Yanks save money for this years payroll...And Logan is now at $3 million while Phil Coke is at $1.7 million.....
That is $26 million compared to $8 million if they kept Jackson, Kennedy and Coke.....an $18 million saving lost!
And no title with Granderson!
Money wasted and cheaper younger players lost!

Omg, a parade now for sure!
The Yankees signed veteran catcher Bobby Wilson to a minor league deal, according to Matt Eddy of Baseball America (on Twitter). *Wilson will vie for playing time with*Chris Stewart, Francisco Cervelli, and rookie Austin Romine this spring. *The backstop hit*.208/.272/.321 in five seasons with the Angels.
Woot! Starting catcher!
