Not sure, but I saw him on a Mazda commercial once and he told me to warn you of his impending rise to prominence.

Via Joel Sherman: The Yankees have no interest in free agent nominal outfielder Delmon Young. They’re still looking for a right-handed bat even after signing Matt Diaz to a minor league pact last week.

Young, 27, hit .267/.296/.411 (89 wRC+) last season and .267/.299/.403 (89 wRC+) in over 1,100 plate appearances over the last two seasons. He has been better against southpaws (.305/.335/.467, 117 wRC+). Despite his big postseason series against the Yankees, Young is a terrible hitter overall and somehow an even worse fielder. He was also arrested for an anti-Semitic hate crime in New York in April 2012, and that’s just not gonna fly.

A bit more depressing news about this bogus self-imposed cap, it turns out its not 189 million , its more like 177 million.

The luxury tax is based on the average annual value of contracts* on the 40-man roster and is basically adjusted daily, meaning the “tax hit” for players who don’t spend the entire season on the 40-man (called up late, traded, etc.) is pro-rated. Bonuses count as well, as does the team’s portion of the league’s player benefits. Players benefit costs are shared equally by the 30 teams and will be valued at a touch less than $10.8M in 2013, but they are expected to go up to about $12M for 2014. Just like that, the $189M is really $177M as far as what can actually be spent on players.

What is so depressing about it? It is a good reason to bring in new young blood from the minors. Besides, how many teams have a payroll over $177 million?

We will still have Teix, CC, Jeter, Alex and Gardner.

    Romine staying in the minors.

According to a report in the Daily News. Brian said he wants him to start the year in the minors and go with Cervelli and Stewart.

He also said last year was power from the catcher and 2013 will be defensive.

That was always the case though. The real number 170-177 has been discussed on Lohud for the past few months but fans are just starting to catch onto it now because all the FO pumped out was 189....189....189.
Friend: I think the NBA payed off the Heat in the first yr because of the politics. They threw game four and they payed Lebron because they were angry with what he did. So he had pay one way or another.

F:There is no one in the draft coming out and trading players isn't going to happen. The Lakers are in trouble.

F: Vogel doesn't run that team. Shaw does. If he leaves they are going to suck and Vogel will get fired.
