I hope raul is gone. He was clutch last year but besides that he was pretty cold. Would have loved him a few years ago.

According to Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com, the Mariners have agreed to a one-year contract with free agent outfielder Raul Ibanez.

Terms of the deal have not been disclosed. Ibanez, who hit .240/.308/.453 with 19 homers and 62 RBI for the Yankees in 2012, is likely to serve as the M's starting left fielder against right-handed pitching and a part-time DH. This will be his third tour of duty with Seattle, where he played from 1996-2000 and again from 2004-2008. He was originally drafted by the M's.

I'd like the move of it meant a younger guy would get a shot but since it probably means another scrap heap veteran will get the time it isn't so great. Who knows.

I think they are looking for players who can actually hit a baseball.

    Healthy, this team is crap.

C Cervelli 1B Teixeira 2B Cano SS Jeter 3B Youkilis DH A-Rod LF Gardner CF Granderson RF Ichiro

The Yankees will just rotate craps in the DH spot until A-Rod comes back. Book it. To see this team is over $200 million payroll is pathetic. So many overpaid guys.

Nothing exciting about the pitching either... CC, Kuroda, Hughes, Nova, Pettitte with a returning Pineda.

They've let go of Martin, Ibanez, Jones, Chavez, Swisher and probably Soriano. Good. But they haven't replaced anyone, which is a huge issue. These owners suck.

Hopefully they continue course next year letting go of Granderson, Hughes, Youkilis and letting Rivera & Pettitte retire. Cano better not get a big deal either for like 8 years at age 30.

This season is already in the toilet before it started. Toronto will be dominant. The Rays are always tough. Baltimore was great last year. And then you have the Red Sox who could come back after Dempster, Napoli, Victorino and Harandan were acquired.
