Or just another way to bring Napoli to heel?

6/27/09: “We expect [Rondo] to play by the rules and be a leader as a point guard. We need him to be more of a leader,” Ainge said. “There were just a couple situations where he was late this year, I don’t know if he was sitting in his car, but showed up late and the rest of the team was there. We have team rules and you have to be on time. He was fined for being late, he said he was stuck in traffic, and it’s just unacceptable.”

Sounds like he could that guy who can platoon with Gomes at left and plays 1st when Napoli catches (if he signs)

Abreu was always a talented player. That said I'd rather take a chance on a prospect to play the position we would sign Abreu to play. Abreu's going to be 39 when next season starts so age is a factor here.
    Favourite Teams:

Boston Red Sox: 63-80, games this week vs. Orioles (3), Royals (4)
Indianapolis Colts: 0-1, Week 2 vs. Eagles
Minnesota Timberwolves: New team, hoping for good things this season.
Ottawa Senators: 37-31-14, season over, free agency begins this week.

eh, there are better options but strictly as the left handed hitter to platoon occasionally with Napoli (unless we don't sign him) i guess it'd be alright

This would have been the perfect situation for Lars Anderson to split time at 1B/LF and see if his once 'high potential' could return.

What did we ever get in return for him? Was it a bag of pucks donated to the Bruins for practices?

No thanks. I'd rather go into next season with Mauro Gomez.

All that proves is that you are not a member of his family, because nobody in their right mind suggests this guy for a starting 1B.

Disagree. Abreu isn't a major leaguer anymore. If they did sign him it would be as minor league depth. This is a very minor rumor, it doesn't deserve its own thread.
