I think the money is a bit high, but I wouldn't at all be surprised if he found success in the NL.
I didn't see anyone post this but it's actually 2 years and less than 13 million so slightly different than first thought.

Guys has good stuff, just a ****ing head case; could still be a great pitcher, but tries so hard not to be.
For the record as the unofficial head of the Pirates fan base here on PSD I very much like this move. True it could be a total bust but free agent signings like this are really the only chance the Pirates have making substantial upgrades (through free agency at least).
For the record I give him a 15% chance at being too awful to use, a 45% chance of being a decent back of the rotation starter, a 30% chance at settling in as a middle of the rotation pitcher, a 9.999% chance of becoming a solid #2 and a .001% chance of regaining it all and becoming a true ace once again.

- HeymanLiriano deal is agreed to with pirates for exactly $12.75M for 2 yrs.

Think you've really got two Liriano's here: he'll either be great or god awful.
Interesting to see which one they get.
Stoops....there it is!Fix it. Fix it good.
It's not a bad gamble for the Pirates. Hopefully he can have a decent year and they can have a winning record.
Hahaha have fun Pirates...the guys nothing but a head case. He's got the stuff to be great again, but he just tries to hard to be great again. 7 mil is too much

Man this could payoff bigtime for the pirates or he can blow up. But its worth the shot.
The overpay for average players won't end.
