We'll see how Whitenack bounces back after his first season following TJS. He still had middle of the rotation upside.

Which means they aren't very good, for all intents and purposes. They have little to no value (even if they were tradeable). They're just lottery tickets at this point. Need to at least see them go through a year to see what attrition does.

Possible 2014 rotation if everyone sticks around:

    Price, Garza, Samardzija, Jackson, Vizcaino.

Even if we trade Garza or Shark, we'll still have the #2 overall pick who could be a college SP, as well as Baker, Feldman, Wood, and another FA class to work with.

    I love this.

There has to be a trade coming up though. We have almost no room on the 40 man.

Get a leadoff man another lefty reliever and righty utility bat and we got smell potential.

With all of these SP options now, I wonder if it makes it any less likely that we take one of Appel, Manaea, Stanek, or whoever else is an option with the #2 pick.

they will still take a pitcher with that pick because the cubs have little to no good young pitching.

Yeah, no doubt in my mind that we take a SP in with the 2nd pick.

    And...here...we...go...

We better not pass on Appel if he doesn't go first overall
