Yeah I had cards fans blow me up on how bad of a signing it was based off of his ERA and W/L record. When I talk about k:BB K/9 WAR open market pitching costs whip they get confused and respond with "What do you know about baseball you're a cubs fan

Same here. Sign a bionic man later. The Cubs needed to be as sure as possible the arm will stay attached for the length of the deal. Plus they saved at least 20 million.
