Jays claim Mickey Storey from the Astros

I didn't see where else this might have been mentioned and wanted to learn more about the guy.

Storey, 26, made his major-league debut in 2012 with Houston, appearing in 26 games and posting a 0-1 record with a 3.86 earned-run average out of the bullpen.

    The six-foot-two, 185-pound right-hander held opponents to a .237 average, including a .167 mark against left-handed hitters.

The Blue Jays now have 40 players on the 40-man roster.
Is he any good? He is only 26 and kills lefties. I like what I have read so far.

He has a high strikeout rate but doesn't through exceptionally hard. Fastball averaged under 90mph.

He is definitely a good pickup to fill out our 40 man roster at least.

No way! Santos and Janssen have the back end. He's middle relief, competing with Delabar, Lincoln and Rogers for the three righty middle relief spots.

I posted this in the off-season thread yesterday, didn't think it deserved it's own thread. Storey is likely a 10th-14th reliever type guy, AAA filler unless he steals a job in ST.

Maybe he is the next Bautista??? :P

I think this kid has alot of potential from the things I have been reading, but I couldn't even find a scouting report on him!

He is insurance just in case Oliver doesn't return.

Back of the pen lefty option is what I see. A guy to come in and get that nasty LH in the 7th or 8th inning.

I am excited though for our bullpen this year. I think they will generally be well rested and we could have a back end to this bullpen that we haven't had since 1992. Henke-Ward combo 2.0. That is a huge piece to a championship team.

I really think the only other possible upgrade is a DH replacement for Lind. Which I don't see happening. What capable vet is out there wanting to sign for a reasonable price? I wish Berkman was that vet but I am not so sure about the reasonable part.

Should have been clearer. He owns LH hitters. Thus an option to get lefties out.

Sounds like he could give us the same thing as Cecil.
