Pimentel, Wright, and Butler is more than enough for him.

OTOH his inter league numbers are good as is his slashes in the 8th and 9th.

Personally i don't like to use inter-league numbers. I don't find them too revealing. I think he's far more established than Melancon, but I just want people to realize he's likely not the shutdown closer he once was if he was here.

im not a fan either becuase he is on his last year on his contract but i think thats a little harsh lol

Why do people think Iglesias is really all that good. He's not going to hit. Sure he's a young controllable Cesar Izturis. CI is available on a minor league deal as he is every season. Hanrahan has had success and I'd much rather invest there than in a short stop who brings nothing more than late inning pinch running and defense.

It's just a matter of time until these 2 teams find each other.

I think I am all for giving them Iglesias. As many have stated, he will not hit his way out of a paper bag in the AL east. He may benefit from a move to the National League. There he may actually be able to hit his .240 .290 .310 projection. Which is still awful. But if he can get us something valuable, then I say go for it!

I pick at Iglesias more than anyone here, but, at .220/.280/.260 he might end up as a 1.7 rWAR SS with that glove. Not good enough for here. But over the next few years a very solid late inning replacement/back-up at SS/2B/3B right here while we wait on that bat.

A closer with varying amounts of wildness and one year of control? Melancon, Pimental, Butler, Wright - that's the pool to pull from for this deal.

This year alone - who is the back-up at those 3 slots? Ciriaco? Maybe he does the job, or maybe his bat and glove regress? He's 27 years old with 107 career games played - infield version of Nava.
