Quick list of important needs assuming all ours guys are FAs


Need 2 starting safeties (bring back Delmas, Speivey and another)
Need 2 starting CBs (bring back Houston and draft/FA a #2)
Need a #2 WR (Burleson, Broyles, Durham etc can fill out remainder)
Need 2 starting OLBs (unless Lewis or Whitehead can start)
Need 1 good DT who can also start (wouldn't mind SLH or CWill or both brought back)
Need 1 RB (speed back who is a threat with screens)

That's about all I can think of, the rest can be filled out with depth imo.

So true I been saying we need a number 2 for a few years but they stuck in a time zone or something

I think it's time we get rid of Delmas. With all the time on the sidelines he has to make more $ per tackle than any player in the NFL.

List of needs with no one resigned:
2 starting safeties: Resign Delmas, draft a safety and let him compete with Silva for the starting spot. Silva has come in at times and played well. Give him one more year and he could be good enough to warrent a chance to start. If not get either Reid or Rambo in the draft. Both would be able to start. If they really want to get someone in FA so get Byrd. Him and Delmas have been competeing to see who was better out of that draft class. Let them compete but on the same team.

2 starting CBs: resign houston, either draft Milliner if his stock raises or we trade back a few picks or if we win out and fall back to around ten. If not that sign a guy like Tracy Porter or Rodgers-Cromatie. Both could be solid number twos, allows bently to play nickle and green to play dime and Greenwood to play backup safety and corner.

#2 WR: Broyles will be back and if his knee heals like the other one did but he is a very good slot receiver. We do need someone to be able to burn people like CJ. If Wallace is willing to take $7-$9 Million I would sign him. If not draft someone in the later rounds with Potential and let Burleson play out the last year of his contract.

2 starting OLBs: resign Durant, if Te'o is there draft him. If not give Whitehead, T. Lewis, or Hogue a chance. This is not somewhere to worry about in FA.

1 DT: we should draft someone late. Suh and Fairley will start and SLH will be the primary backup but we need another to run the rotation we like. If not in the draft sign someone cheap who can provide a decent pass rush on occasion.

2 DE: resign young and jackson, if Te'o and Milliner are gone in draft draft one high. If not go get Micheal Johnson. Big guy with a strong burst.

1 RB: need a speed back to compliment our two power runners. Draft Barner late out of Oregon. Dude has elite speed and can return kicks also. Be a very good third down option.

Nah there's no need to get rid of him. He's a game changer when he's on the field, all we need is better/higher quality depth at the position. Have him and then another starter with Silva and Speivey as the backups and we'll be fine even if he goes down.

In 4 years, Delmas is averaging 60 tackles, .75 sacks, .75 INTs and less than 4 passes defended a year.

no but tahts little diffrent... every SB other then the ravens have had a legt QB.. most the time top 10..

thats not the case with CB.. or pass D at all for that matter

Brad Johnson won one in Tampa...not what I would call a legit starter.

Jim McMahon wasn't a great qb either.

It's mediocre IMO...we need multiple upgrades in my opinion, I know some believe that Houston is a #1 CB but I don't think so, don't get me wrong he has played solid against #1 WR but we need someone better(or equal) to solidify the secondary. There's no CB on this team close to Houston and that's a bad thing.

The wide 9 is a bend, dont break D. Thats why the numbers are skewed to make the D look better than it is. Anyone with 2 eyes can plainly see that any teams that want to throw against the Lions, will be able to throw, and throw easily.

Some people are happy ignoring the obvious and hiding behind numbers. Barry Bonds was the best ever! If you ignore the steroids. Matthew Stafford had one of the most successful seasons ever as a QB last year! If you ignore the ZERO playoff wins.

If I was game planning against Detroit, my pass to throw ratio would be 10:1. Guaranteed win.
