    Mets acquire Collin Cowgill

@MartinoNYDN: The Mets have acquired Oakland OF Collin Cowgill for Jefrey Marte.

I guess that's the OF we were looking to acquire.

I thought he was a lefty. Never mind, this is a nice trade.

    Mets acquire Collin Cowgill

    12. Collin Cowgill (OF)
Another piece received from the Diamondbacks in the Cahill deal, Cowgill could find a role in Oakland’s outfield as soon as Opening Day. An undersized grinder, Cowgill still has tools that can play at the big league level. He has solid hitting ability with average power potential thanks to plus-plus bat speed. He plays hard in center field with good instincts and a decent arm. He also handles the corners well and should be a very nice fourth outfielder at the Major League level.

Nice trade. Alderson is having a great off-season.

This ensures that Hairston isn't re-signed.

I like this very much, he hit lefties very well last year and should be a nice platoon piece.

I could see a Baxter/Cowgill platoon which could potentially be a very good one.

I thought he was another lefty bat so I got pissed at first lol. Not too many righty hitting lefty throwers out there, only Ross comes to mind.

The latest Moneyball metric is height.
"The 90 wins is about challenge. It's about changing the conversation. It's about framing questions for ourselves as to how we get there. So I stand by the notion that we need to get better, and in doing so we need to set concrete goals for ourselves so that we have sort of specific conversations among ourselves about how we're going to get there." -- Mr. Alderson

I do not see anything wrong with this trade. We need some Right Handed outfielders and he fits the bill completely

Not a fan of this trade at all.

    Who?

Seems like a lateral trade, but who the heck really knows.
