We are stacked with young pitching I think we should explore a trade for a OFer. Peter Bourjos would be a great fit.

Beyond the big 3 (Wheeler, Harvey, Syndergaard) theres Mateo, Tapia, Montero, Fulmer, DeGrom, Mazzoni, Matz, Gorski....get er done Omar.

I think we need to stay pat and I think that is the plan. We have a great foundation and once those contracts come off next year we can fill the remaining holes with FA's.

I have zero interest in Peter Bourjos.

He sucked last year but he was playing through nagging injuries and struggled for playing time with Trout emergence. He would definitely become our best OFer he's young and can be a leadoff hitter for us. He would come pretty cheap to because LAA has such a surplus of ML OFers.

His 2011 numbers were really solid. 147 games with 11 homers 22 SBs and a .271avg 327 OBP...pretty good for a CFer. Also plays great defense and WAS a top 100 prospect by BA pre 2010.

Another name is Dexter Fowler but he would be more more costly.

I wouldn't say I have zero interest in Bourjos, but I do have serious doubts about him and Anthony Gose, both of whom were mentioned prominently in the Dickey discussions. If we are looking to trade for an outfielder, here is my preference list.

1. Leonys Martin - Is there any way the Rangers would consider an offer for Martin alone?
2. Emilio Bonifacio - Can play CF well, good speed, could lead off, and the Jays have been talking to Atlanta about him.
3. Alejandro De Aza - Would the White Sox part with this young, still developing CF?
4. Coco Crisp - Older and more expensive, maybe a 1 year rental, but plays good CF, switch hitter, leads off and steals bases.
5. Kole Calhoun or Jarrod Dyson - Could have been part of a Dickey deal with LAA or KCR. If MLB ready could be a fit.
6. Alex Gordon - May also cost too much in prospects, and may not even be available, but . . .
7. Jason Kubel - Has some pop, not much glove, may be too costly in both prospects and salary.

A Mets blogger suggested that the Angels were looking to get rid of Vernon Wells and might pay $38 million of the $42 million he is owed for '13 & '14. Anyone game for that.

In free agency, Cody Ross, Scott Hairston and Nyjer Morgan are viable possibilities.

If you could put Citifield on a hydraulic lift, and raise it about 5,280 feet in the air every time Fowler came to the plate, you might have a good idea. Er . .oh, but then he'd still have to hit in all those other NL East stadiums at sea level. . . no, that won't work.

Fowler's career splits away from Coors are .248/.331/.367. I think I'll pass.

Yeah Sick, I'm surprised you're not a fan of Bourjous at all.

I understand he's offensively limited, but if we have him in CF, he's a gold glover. I also agree that his 2011 numbers are far more indicative of his abilities, and that's a guy I would sign up for any day. As long as he cost something that was more on the Mazzoni+ line, I'd be fine with him.

He would make having Duda out there tolerable, and he's cheap/under control. It would let us be sound up the middle, and then we can fill in LF/RF with boppers in FA next year. I'd be all aboard.

i don't think sandy is done yet as per his tweets. they will look to get an outfielder or 2 via trade or FA. not sure who i want but speed in cf and power in the corners is the type of players i would be looking for.
