Santana in name and on paper.

    Our ace is Harvey.

We should go with Santana, Harvey, Niese, Gee, Mejia

We will actually go with Sanatna, Niese, Harvey, Gee, Mejia

In terms of talent it's probably more like Harvey, Niese, Santana, Gee, Mejia

But the reality is that Harvey is expected to pitch like a 1, Niese the 2 and Santana can pitch like a 2 borderline 3. Anything more from Santana will gladly be accepted.

    I disagree with the rotation.

Obviously Santana is opening day starter, even though I said Niese should be...

The rotation then will split up lefties so Niese is slotted 3rd imo depending on who this Starting Pitcher SA is planning to bring in... Maybe Edwin Jackson if we can get him to a 1yr contract? but i doubt it

    Anyways:

    Santana/ (?) / Niese/ Harvey/ Gee is what I think it'll be.

Santana is not an ace anymore.

    Geez.

Thinking about further, it doesn't matter who our #1 is. We'll be lucky to win 70-74 games.

It'll be interesting to watch us "battle" the Fish for 4th place.....

Nope, but he's a veteran. Harvey will be our ace in 2014.

I don't think we will be battling fro 4th place. The Marlins will be worse than us by a long shot.

Depending on some of the Phillies veterans we will be battling for 3rd place.

    Who is our #1 pitcher?

He'll be pitching in Las Vegas at the start of the season.

Niese is the safe pick, Johan is also a safe pick. But Gee was showing some pretty good numbers last year before the injury. If he can pick up where he left off, I don't see why he can't win 13-15 games with a mid 3 Era

I love how well Harvey Pitched, but guys before we give him the Ace crown, lets see how he does now that hitters have some chance to scout him. I would slot him as our number 5 pitcher, he still needs to earn that spot as far as I'm concerend

santana is the ace... for now. then it will be harvey... for awhile... then it will end with wheeler. santana should be traded at dead line for a top outfield spec.

I really hope Santana pitches well and is healthy. I would love to trade him for a top OF prospect.

I could see someone like the Angles come calling.

That can easily translate to Z Master. Coincidence? I think not.

Niese might be more of an ace than Santana. Who knows what if anything Johan has left in the tank? I find it remarkable that everyone here is ready to annoint him the ace of the staff based on his prior accomplishments. Newsflash: Past events arent always indicative of future results. I think my stock broker told me that once
