Mets never offered 25m, they supposedly never budged from 20M.

if it weren't for the royals-rays trade...the mets-jays trade would have been a whole different story....they rays set the bar high

I don't understand how people make the argument "Well, this is overpaying but this is what the market is dictating." There's nothing in the market place that is forcing Anthopoulos to meet the price. It's a conscious choice to pay it.

In the past, not meeting the price for Gio Gonzalez or Mat Latos, people were thrilled that he was a GM who exercised patience and restraint in the face of absurd market prices, not to mention the free agent market concerning Prince Fielder or Yu Darvish.

Since we clearly have the best rotation in the AL, where do you guys think we rank in all of baseball?

I really don't think all these trades are going to sink in untill spring training and these guys are in Jays uni's. So many great things have happened this offseason it just hasn't sunk in yet

I think they were leaning more on trading him rather than signing him, thus the low ball offer.

Philies have Halladay, Lee, and Hamels. 3 of the top 15 pitchers in baseball. Hard to not include them in that list
