So, we know that Shurmur and Heckert are gone. Who will be the new GM? I think it may be the David Caldwell from Atlanta or Jason Idzik from Seattle. I read this in an article and know I cannot find the article. Also, Andy Reid has been fired!

Of my list of ideas for the 2013 offseason, replacing Weeden is one that I could go both ways on. If they stick with him, they need to find another guard to help him out and a veteran/possession type receiver to provide the youngsters with some guidance...at the minimum! He isn't a guy that is going to LEAD the team to the Super Bowl...he is the type of quarterback that the team may get to the playoffs in spite of (like a Trent Dilfer).

I just want to be able to watch winning football....sooner rather than later!

I can't diagree with any of that... my point is QB class is below avg and FA/trade market not impressive i don't think we should waste picks or assets on another QB at this point.

A couple names I would keep an eye on:

Impending free agent LG Andy Levitre made it clear while cleaning out his locker on Monday that he intends to shop for the best offer on the market this offseason. The Bills opened preliminary talks in the offseason, but they went nowhere. A picture of durability on an oft-injured offensive line, Levitre has started 64 consecutive games since entering the league as the 51st overall pick in the 2009 draft. Levitre is Rotoworld's No. 1 ranked guard on the market this year. He should attract plenty of suitors if the Bills don't re-sign him before free agency kicks off. Jan 1 - 2:58 PM
Best Guard on the market. Would really solidify this line and is still young. If can't get him then I would look at Geoff Schwartz to take the place of Shawn with Greco and Pinkston battling it out on the other side. Also it would eliminate the need in the draft.

Impending free agent CB Keenan Lewis said he's "hoping" to be back with the Steelers.Lewis, who shined as a first-time starter this season, was actually glad he didn't sign a new deal following 2011. "I didn't want nickel-back money, I wanted starter money," he said. Lewis figures to attract significant action on the open market as he's just 26 years old and reaching his prime. The MCL sprain he sustained in December did not require surgery. Jan 3 - 9:33 AM
Only 26 so still young and might be finally coming into his own as a starting outside CB. Would like this to stick it to the Steelers as well as they will have a lot of issues cap wise this offseason and possibly could not resign Lewis to the money he wants if they aren't able to restructure and cut enough guys. Liked his play a lot this year and sounds like he could go to the highest bidder by his comments but the scary thing would be if he regressed after this year which was his contract year and he knew he had to step up.

Other names I would look at:

Stefan Logan if Kelly is brought in as scatback. Rather go draft for that though.
Jared Cook or James Casey to replace Watson
    Rob Jackson as rush OLB
Brent Grimes or Sean Smith with Lewis at CB
Dustin Colquitt for Punter, yes I don't think KC will let him go but he could be looking for more money then they want to give for a punter after his pro-bowl year.

Long way to go but there are some names I am looking at. I would also throw a FS and veteran WR in there too but couldn't decide on who I liked the best out of the groups.

Not happening after the money they gave to Rucker last offseason unless they just completely cut him which I don't see happening either. Johnson will look for a payday and get it but it wont be from the Browns as that would be too much money invested in two rotating DE's. Thats why I see more of just a rotational pass rushing specialist being picked up probably in the draft to go the cheaper route.

Due to where I live, I'm forced to hear Pittsburgh sports radio. All the talk on Keenen Lewis is good and from what I hear is someone they want back . But between him and Cortez Allen they will choose Allen. Would be nice to steal someone away from them

Free Agents - Wants and needs

    http://nfltraderumors.co/2013-nfl-free-agents/

Here is a list of FA in 2013.
I've started this to get your opinions on who we should sign in the offseason. Here is a few that I think we should go after before the draft to fill some holes. I believe we are only a few pieces away.
    WR
    Victor Cruz - rfa
    Mike Wallace

    O-line
    Jake Long

    D-line
    Osi Umenyiora

    Linebackers
    Rey Maualuga
    Brian Urlacher

    Cornerbacks
    Brent Grimes
    Aqib Talib

    Add your thoughts and suggestions

WR: Greg Jennings would be #1 on my board. Perfect fit for this team with his skill set and ability to run great routes. not a burner but you can play him anywhere. Exactly what the Browns need.
LB: No way do you go after urlacher. I live in Chicago. He is old, slow and that knee is a disaster. The rumor up here is the bears don't even want to re-sign him but may get guilted into by the fans. Stay away.
O-Line: i don't think you need to spend any money on the o-line unless it is at the guard position. no need to get a jake long.

    WR
Victor Cruz - rfa - NOT gonna happen
Mike Wallace - probably NOT gonna happen
    O-line
Jake Long - NOT gonna happen...don't need him

    D-line
    Osi Umenyiora - overrated
    Linebackers
    Rey Maualuga - LIKE him
Brian Urlacher - NOT gonna happen
    Cornerbacks
Brent Grimes - could happen, could do a lot worse
Aqib Talib - NOT gonna happen

    Add your thoughts and suggestions
Would definitely like to add a veteran WR or possession type receiver to help groom Little, Gordon, and Benjamin. Wouldn't mind Danny Amendola, Brian Hartline, Greg Jennings, Dwayne Bowe (not gonna be cheap).

Definitely need CB help...I like Brent Grimes, Mike Jenkins, and Dashon Goodson. Definitely need someone to put opposite Joe Haden!

LB - Wished they would have drafted Maualuga out of college...so he would be a target (can't see Cincy letting him go though), Dannell Ellerbe (again...don't see Baltimore letting him go, especially with Lewis retiring), Paul Kruger (same as Ellerbe), Larry Grant in SF is intriguing (always seems to make plays when I watch Frisco play), Chase Blackburn in NY (Ohio kid...5 FF and in INT this year...playmaker!), Anthony Spencer in Dallas (11 sacks would be a nice add), Erik Walden in GB (kind of overlooked with Hawk and Matthews in the LB corps)...LOVE Jarvis Jones and Manti Te'o in the draft.

Other than that...guard would be a position of interest along with safety...haven't done my research on those 2 positions yet.

Some of the names listed would definitly help. A LB would be nice, and agreed on Maualauga, should have drafted him in the first place. I really like Amendelo . .he's a player, but he's not a number one. Of course Gordon could BE our number one, but if you add someone like Amendelo and as someone esle said, Greg Jennings, that would make us TOUGH at that position. I just wonder who will be throwing to them . .I guess that depends on who the new coach is . . .

We arent gonna spend that kinda money for most the people we are saying. And they wouldnt come here if we did. But from the list I see Id say I hope we hold onto: Brandon Jackson, Parker, Patterson, Dawson, and add McIntyre or Schmditt, Brandon Tate, Brandon Myers, PacMan Jones or Sean Smith. We need a Tightend though maybe get one in he draft late like Stoneburner.

Of the free agents on the market, here are names that I like and that I think Haslam would be willing to "overspend" for simply because I'm sure he knows that NO ONE wants to sign here as a FA.

WR: Greg Jennings, Danny Amendola, Ramses Barden
TE: Jared Cook, Delanie Walker, Travis Beckum
CB: Sean Smith, Brent Grimes, Keenan Lewis, Mike Jenkins
    DE: Michael Bennett
LB: Erin Henderson, Chase Blackburn, Shuan Phillips
    S: Kenny Phillips, Rashad Johnson
G: Andy Levitre, Louis Vasquez, Matt Slauson, Duece Lutui
    QB: Chase Daniel
