The Saskatchewan Roughriders of the CFL also use "Rider Nation", but it's probably better fitting than "Raider Nation", although it's a much lesser league.

Not only did Marcum get a one year deal..but he signed for 4 mil plus incentives... blanton is making more money than him as well... I think saunders will be in that neighborhood as well.

true that, the weaver deal is looking great, Felix is making more than twice what were paying weaver, and over the last 3 years the only pitcher with a lower era than Weaver is Kershaw.

well the name of the game is run prevention, and ERA tells us what happened, FIP and other stats are more predictive, and they can tell us why things happened, but you will get guys like Weaver who's FIP and XFIP etc tell a different story than what happened.

It tells the overall picture of what happened, not solely how the pitcher performed. It's basically like saying RBI tells you how only one hitter performs.

Well it's not nearly as close. ERA over 3 years is not that bad of a stat. RBI over 3 years is still a horrible stat. And FIP has it's own problems that it still needs to correct or that it over-corrected concerning the individual performance question. For now, the answer is that we need to be cautious of taking a strong position with any pitching stat.

ERA is not the RBI of the pitching world that W-L, and if it makes you feel better he has a better k/bb rate over the last 3 years as well.
