it's more value than what I wanted the Jays to give up, but having Dickey is a huge plus in the short term going for the playoffs/World Series.
I wonder what the Jays do now. are they done? can they possibly even be adding more?

Wow.. what a ride following this deal.
I love the sense that finally after the long and painful way of rebuilding we finally have something to get excited about. I cant blame AA for being this aggressive knowing the current AL east situation and having all this primed player needing just the right people to play with not some prospect we want to test out.
Did we give up a lot? sure, But it will be all worth it knowing the team finally fielded an awesome team on the team after years of uncertainty. I do love the prospects we have but AA and friends stick to the plan of rebuilding the farm and when the right moment arise (now) strike and use every ammunition they are gathering on those years.
In terms of Dickey. He is a huge mystery. Discovered a different Knuckle on his latter years. last 3 years has been awesome. One can argue if Age will really be a factor or being a knuckler will just make him be better as he age. In terms of what ifs. we play those all we want but in the end having Dickey now will help immensely on the current team we have. Even if he pitched bad on the world series you can also say he helped us get there.
All in all lets just enjoy it Jays fans! finally we have a team worth spending our money and love for! Go jays!
I just want to add that RA is 7-0 against American league teams in 10 starts and posted an ERA of 1.77 over the last 3 years.

I think there's a lot of over-hyping of d'Arnaud and Syndergaard going on in this thread. d'Arnaud looks like the real deal, and is a ball player, but I don't think we're talking Buster Posey here, and with his knee issues, he could spend time at 1B. With his power potential being a bit limited, there is no place for him at 1B in the AL East. I think he'll do well with the Mets though. Just wouldn't expect an MVP. If everything goes right he'll be a solid big league catcher.
Syndergaard throws extremley hard, but basically has one pitch. He's also barely 20 years old. He's a wild card with a big arm.
These are solid prospects, but neither of them are 'can't miss' by any stretch of the imagination. For 3 years of RA Dickey and an increased chance at a playoff run? I think the Jays made a good deal too.
Don't get me wrong, Mets got about as much value as one could hope for.
Gave up a lot, but in the end they are prospects and are unknowns. The Jays should be favs now to win the AL East on paper, but a lot could go wrong. Exciting times tho which is a rarity for Tdot fans.
“It’s about winning,” Stoudemire said. “You win, you’re going to get on national TV. Simple. In Phoenix, we won — Western Conference finals three, four years, playoffs every year. We won. If you don’t win, nobody really wants to see you.”
Everyone wins this trade. The Mets were going to lose whether Dickey was here or not. He's a classy and humble individual, enjoy him Toronto, he's something special.
Props to MetsLegacy
Happy with this trade, we have to look toward the future.
I also am happy the Jays are putting together a good team, now go and keep the Yankees out of the playoffs for once.
watch out now....dodo do da do (beatnuts)
Wow for the first time in a while, I am beyond excited to ring in opening day as a Jays fan. This has been a dream off-season.
I'm excited for sure and am still thinking that these two minor prospects might be more than just a swap of nobodies or else what's the point. I wasn't a fan of this at first knowing Syndergaard was heading out but then I thought 5 years ago this would be like us trading Travis Snider and Brett Cecil and look hows that worked out.
Either way its a good deal for both teams, I'm impressed with the haul the Mets received and was a great move from them and at the same time we get an ace for three years at 30 million that's is just unbelievable in this new market. Win win for both sides.
The Jay's farm took a hit and are lacking the big prospects that are a year or two away from the majors other than a couple exceptions(Gose)but we have loads of talent in the low minors and now there is no rush bring these guys up like we did with H.Alvarez and D.Hutch. Plus next year we will have Drabek and Hutch back as some new young blood to go along with are vet's.
AA turned us from the bottom five farm when he came to a top five farm in about three, four years. And right now where not even close to bottom five.
2/25? Nice. Dickey is a nice guy.
Syndergaard sounds a lot like Jason Knapp who The Phils traded a while back. Wildcard I'm the trade.
