That fixes a big problem we have.

I do agree earlier with you about not needing Moore or Jones unless we go to a 3-4.
Why, when Veldheer has been doing an outstanding job there? I would still go with the safe pick and draft Joeckel to sure up that RT spot, or Warmack...that dude looked really good last night.\

Another guy that looked good was Milliner, but I'm just iffy of drafting guys that play at Alabama or are from Alabama...no bueno.

Now someone that should be considered very very carefully for the 2014 draft is AJ McCarron. That kid has played really good all season and showed some really good deep balls last night...and his girlfriends super hot.

    Draft Thread II

This draft will be interesting because we really don't know how Reggie evaluates talent.

I don't know much about the others, so I might be a bit bias.
Isn't Werner strictly a 4-3 DE? Raiders are becoming a 3-4 team. Doesn't make sense.

His technique was perfect. He can play for my team.

    Draft Thread II

Veldheer has not played outstanding. Someone here mentioned he finished the season rated the #13th best LT according to one of the stat sites. 32 teams means 16th is average so 13th would make him slightly above average.
In fact he hasn't even made a pro bowl. Let's not overrate Veldheer just because he has brought stability to that position. Yes he has turned out better than anyone thought but he hasn't dominated. We have a hole at RT, draft Joeckel and start him at RT for 1st year then year two move him to LT and Veldheer to RT.
Now we'd have solid tackles and Wiz at Center

Veldheer played great under the circumstances last year, just like Palmer.

I see them both in the same light actually - much, much better play ahead.

If he sucks at RT you ruined his career. We dont know how Veldheer would do at RT. we already know he is a solid LT. LT isnt our biggest need. You can easily find a tackle in the 2nd and 3rd that play RT only. We need a MLB, DT, CB, DE before we need a Tackle. Stop drafting players and putting them in positions they are not comfortable with.

that will be tough choice for us if we end up with the 1st overall pick. We would have to choose between 3 great prospects in Clowney, Manziel and Lee.

My dream scenario is we trade down acquire a 1st next season. Team we trade for sucks and ends up with top 3 pick. If we start of 1-3, 2-5 tank the rest of the season and end up with another top 3. That would put us with 2 top 3 picks. We then draft Clowney and Manziel or Manziel to Lee There is your team for the next 15+ years. You have two players to build our O and D around. But, that isnt going to happen but I can dream cant I? lol

Choose? It's Clowney and that's it.

Did you bother reading my post? I said we ended up with 2 top 3 picks so we get to choose between those 3 which 2 we want.

I read it. I was replying to the first part, "we end up with the 1st overall pick. We would have to choose between 3[...]".

I wasn't replying to your "dream scenario."

if we have the number 1 overall pick next year which we won't we are taking johnny football over clowney. you don't pass up on a QB like that.

If we are going QB, I'll prefer Teddy Bridgewater over Johnny Football anytime.

I'm hoping that we trade down at least once in the first round if not twice. The Raiders have a lot of holes to fill and need as many picks as possible to fill those holes.

If the Raiders do stay at number 3 though I hope its Lotulelei, Jones, Werner, or Joeckel. Building up the trenches can't be a bad thing.

i say we trade our #3 pick for both the Rams first round picks (16 & 22) if Joeckel falls as they will desperately be looking to find their left tackle of the future. With these picks we could get a Chance Womack or barrett Jones to beef up our o-line or the defensive route with Teo or possibly demontre moore (If either fall). I say O-line first tho..
With the other pick we should look for a pass rusher or DT for the other side of the ball. players available in this range would be Mingo, Sheldon Richardson, Dion Jordan or David Amerson. All would instantly help our defense.
We need more than a #3 overall pick, we have too many holes
    What do you think?
