    Beat me to it...

    Here's the story from PFT:

    http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...e-up-for-a-qb/

Bills GM: “Time’s now” to trade up for a QB

You’ll have to pardon Bills general manager Buddy Nix if he’s not quite sure whether he wants to draft a quarterback or not.

After saying he needed to draft a franchise quarterback, and then circling back and saying he might not, he threw another log on the fire Friday morning, a bigger one at that.

Not only do the Bills need to draft one, he said during his weekly radio show, they might have to trade up to do so.

“Let me say this: I think there’s a time that in the era that you’re in and the development of your team, there’s a time when you can move up a round to take a quarterback,” Nix said on WGR, unsolicited (via Tim Graham of the Buffalo News). “And I think the time’s now for us.

“I mean, if a guy’s there — I keep saying that, and there’ll be one out there — if the guy’s there, then I think we’ll target — as I’ve said before — drafting a good quarterback. We need a good, young quarterback, and we’re going to do our best to get him.”

Nix either has something in mind and is trying to get his fans accustomed to the idea of making a big move, or he’s been swayed by the marketing department to keep the 5-8 Bills pertinent by talking about a bold plan.

Either way, spending all the free agent money last year didn’t work, so maybe making an Redskins-type splash for a guy they think could be their Robert Griffin III is the next step.

If Nix falls in love with a QB, Reggie better be there waiting for him, and make him pay a pretty penny for it.

The only team that needs a QB and is ahead of us in terms of the draft is KC. If we lose to KC, I think KC moves behind us only leaving Jags ahead of us. The price of our pick will then go up since teams can choose either Geno or Barkeley without worrying about KC.

barkley might not even go in the 1st... geno is probably the best qb in the draft, but i doubt he'd go #1 or even #3.

There isn't a QB worthy of the 1st rd this year, imo. Now, the trenches postions seem pretty stacked, but there's not as much of a buzz for the "big uglies" like the "pretty boys" playing QB and WR.

Teams fall in love with QBs and overdraft them every year. Due to the overall weakness of the class, that could very well lead to the best 2 or 3 QBs being even more overdrafted.

There have been 6 QBs taken in the top 5 over the last four drafts. You telling me there's no chance two will be taken in the top 5 this year? This list includes guys like Bradford and Sanchez, by the way.

It doesn't matter how "lackluster" you think they are if a team becomes desperate for a QB and overvalues his talents, they may bite on a trade. Sometimes, some days, you just can't get a point across to someone who doesn't want to get it. This is one of those days. Carry on.

heh, you said 'might' bite... that's a very, very big might. definitely not enough to build a draft plan around.

I guarentee you after the combine and pro days, atleast 1 QB if not 2 QB's go top 5. So many teams are QB needy that they will draft them way earlier then they should be. Especially now with the rookie pay scale it makes it easier to take that risk.

By the way I agree with you. I don't think that any of the QB's coming out should sniff anywhere near the top 5, but a desperate GM and coach will draft one that high in hopes of trying to save their job.

IMO I want the Raiders to draft a Run Stopper and then a CB and then a Linebacker

We need a sack specialist as well, if we get to the QB we can have below average CB's and win games. We should go NT,MLB,DE/OLB( pass rusher) for our first 3 picks in any order. One thing that kills me is watching the pile get pushed when we are on D. We lack strength up the middle we need a true NT to clog that up.I think Bergstrom will be our LG moving forward and we can get a RT in free agency to fix the Oline.
