He can't resist trying to pull a pitch six inches off the plate. Just what we need, another old bad pull hitter. He would feel right at home.

I don't get the hate on soriano. Yeah he isn't an MVP level performer at this point but the Yanks have clearly shown getting a guy like that this offseason won't happen. Getting a Soriano would at least give the team a bit of offense added.

I like Soriano. I have an autographed Rookie card of his right on my desk. Don't hate him at all but he lost most of his skills. There was a time he could pull an outside pitch but that was many years ago. Nice guy, lots of heart but poor fit.

Agree, he'll give us some pop that we need as well as a right handed hitter. He'll be for cheap and for only two years.

If the Cubs eat like 80% of the contract, I'd bite. He's a good enough defender in the outfield and can still hit lefties at a solid clip. His OPS against them the past 3 seasons: .831, .812, .944 in 440 PA'S which is a good sample size.

They never should have let Soriano go, plus they made the same mistake last year by DFA Austin Maxwell who now is one of the top players for the Astros.
    Both are outfielders with power.
