Imagine the Cubs rotation if all these deals had gone through. Haren, Sanchez, Delgado, Shark, Garza is pretty damn good.

So does this attempt to sign Sanchez signal the Cubs are not willing to tank in 2013. Maybe they will be in on Marcum or E. Jackson if this falls through. Maybe they do not feel that have to totally suck another year to compete best in 2014 and beyond. Maybe they will do a few moves a year for a few years.

Yes it means they feel they have enough assets to start allocating money to mid and top tier free agents.

Rosenthal says we upped our offer to 77.5 million. Tigers at 75 million.

Feel as though he's going back to Detroit.

Heyman said we're out 2 mins after Rosenthal says we upped offer and discussions continue. I'll wait for Rosenthal.

It can't be an attempt they need to make it happen. I like the idea of making a couple moves a year for a few years while you let the prospects develop.

You can do your best to make it happen, but you cannot force people like Anibel Sanchez to sign a contract if he'd rather sign in Detroit. It, again, sucks we seemed to be the bride's maid and not the bride....but if anything it shows the front office is determined to add MLB talent to the rotation and the bullpen. Which should be reassuring.
