Thumbs down This Saturday will be Larry Merchants last fight on HBO

Man I sad as hell about this. I've always said you'll miss him once he's gone. No one can replace merchant, no matter how drunk they get, no one will have that old school commentating style.

    I wonder why he's leaving.

My all time favorite merchant moment.

    Damn. Wonder why?

I've been so used to listening to Merchant and Emmanuel. It's weird not hearing them in the future.

    WTF.

    First Steward. Now Larry.

Watching fights I always wanted the commentary to be, Lampley, Merchent, and Steward.

Classic combo right there. Can never be replaced at all. Merchant used to trip me out because he was drunk as **** every fight.

Always got the classic "feel" listening to those 3 call a boxing match. And me, being younger, I enjoyed it, cuz these are the dudes my uncles grew up with. Now he's done, man. Damn... sad. It'll be a sad day when Lampley walks away. Same with some of the fighters of the passed generation. Exciting times lie ahead, with all the talent right now. But, dudes like, Cotto, Marquez, Floyd, Pacquiao, are the last guys left. I'm sure I missed a couple. Morales, too.

However, I do still like Mad Max.

LOL Did Merchent have a drinking problem? This is the first I've heard of it... I always wondered.

    Roy and max...

Not excited about that. They got no style.

What also made Larry great was he had no agenda, he would bash a fight or the fighters np, he didn't care what HBO's agenda was.

For those that dnt like Larry when is the last time you have seen a post fight interview that was good, where fighters got called out for there bs, even told they were boring, or asked the real questions?

    Only Larry can do that.

The only time I hated Larry merchant was after katsidis loss Marquez, his brother had just died, katsidis just got wrecked, and merchant says, "what would your brother think of this performance?"

I couldn't believe he said that. Katsidis started crying immediately than merchant just cut him off.
