I havent voted yet. I think the all star game is more for the casual fans. Real fans dont respect it as any type of real competition. I mean does anybody on here honestly care if the west or the east wins? Without looking it up does anybody on here even know which side won the last 6 all star games? I dont, and its not like anybody even talks about it because there isnt any purpose.

well- if we wanted to take the all star selections more seriously, theyd have to make some changes. At the point when they the voting they should have a group of players to select from that are

A) currently playing and have played a minimum number of games throughout the season.

B) The group of players should be narrowed down by how well they are playing THAT season, and how much of an impact they are having on their teams record.

C) The fans should be aware of which players the coaches are trending towards as a whole. (maybe have a coaches choice section on the ballot)

D) They should make the entire coaching staff of each team fill out an ballot and the players that all coaches pick as the starters should be weighted equal to what all the fans have voted.

LOL- as it is now- being selected to the all star game as a reserve is actually something to be more proud of than being picked by the fans.

All Star game is a joke and it's dominated by the most popular players - not necessarily the best players this season. It's a marketing bonanza weekend. That's all it is.

Getting selected to the All-NBA 1st, 2nd, and 3rd team is more of an honor.
