With the Rangers disaster of an offseason I'm surprised that Dickey is still a Met. Fans in the Ranger forum are already freaking out, imagine if the Angels beat them to RA!

Dempster (Red Sox)and Anibal Sanchez (Cubs signed) it should be the Mets turn.

Texas could get desperate and give us what we want. I hear they are likely to go after Swisher for the OF now. They might not want to take the chance that the Angels beat them to Dickey cause if they do, Angels are gonna have the pitchers to go with that sick lineup. Lets see

So it's looking like the Mets may have a few teams to play against each other for Dickey. If I was Sandy, these are the types of packages I'd go for:

Texas: Olt, Martin, and Sardinas (Mets add more to the deal).

    Red Sox: Bradley, Brentz, Swihart.

Blue Jays: D'Anaurd and Gose (Mets add more to the deal).

Angels: Bourjous, Conger, and Lindsay. OR Trumbo, Lindsay, and Calhoun.

Those Red Sox and Angels deals are TERRIBLE.

The Texas or Blue Jays deal I love and should be the type of trade we make.

Bradley is a stud and brentz should be a solid .260- .270 20hr hitter with a great arm

Sorry but 3 of these deals aren't realistic.. the Rangers wouldn't offer more than Olt, let alone add Martin and Sardinas

The Jays wouldn't strade D'arnaud straight up for Dickey

The Sox probably don't trade Bradley straight up for Dickey

I could see the Angels deal going through but the first one is horrible for the Mets

Bourjos is vastly underrated by many guys here. He is a valuable commodity, but is expendable for the Angels due to Trout.

He is the best defensive CF in baseball hands down. That type of defense at a premium position will be incredible for us in Citi. As a hitter, he is also undersold. He slumped early this year and never got a chance to rebound.

In 2011, he hit .271/.327/.438 good for a 116 OPS+ which is very good for the type of defense he brings to the table. He is still only 25(same age as den Dekker and Kirk)

Bourjos has had 1 decent season on offense, his whole value lies on his defense. Yes he did not played nearly as much in his other 2 seasons as he did when he had a good year, but am not one to be happy with getting him.

In fact all these names brought up do not excite me whatsoever except for a couple of guys.

He's a valuable asset. He's also under control for 4 more seasons.

His WAR in 2011 was 4.5 in 2011. That's his only full season.

^Mainly from his defense. He's a good player no doubt about it. But not someone I'd give Dickey for. Not as the center piece at least

No, mostly from his offense. On BR, his oWAR was 3.6 and his dWAR is 1.6.

Angels ballpark is hard of offense too, the new Citi could help him out some.

Even when he's not been hitting, his defense has been on an incredible level. He's got all the tools out there.

We need to get a big package back for Dickey, and a package with Bourjos as the centerpiece is not the way to go. We need better prospects, this guy is the damn Cy Young. Not trading him and letting him leave in the off-season would be an even bigger mistake. We need to cash in with this guy, his value is high and Sandy needs to keep upgrading the farm system

I'd take a Bourjos, Richards, Lindsey package in a heartbeat.

Would absolutely not take that. Bourjos would essentially be the centerpiece of the deal and he profiles as a 4th OF at best, not the main piece in a package for the reigning NL Cy Young winner. I'm not sold on Richards, and Lindsey is a nice complimentary piece.

Would much rather Olt + than that.
