NO WAY?!![]()
Not that I had much hope anyway, but this means probably no Swisher.
SF Giants, SF 49ers, Sac Kings since birth.
I like this deal. It's for $2M guaranteed. Great defense. Switch hitter. Able to spell all three OF positions. Most importantly, this sets up a platoon for LF:
Andres Torres vs. LHP career: .258/.340/.743
Gregor Blanco vs. RHP career: .262/.358/.698
Certainly won't be a power hitting position for us, but will be an area of strength on defense with a good ability to get on base. Low risk, solid move.
I wanna know the terms of the contract.
Edit: Nvm, good spliff posted it![]()
Not a bad idea.

Waste of money. Should have been a minor league contract.

Sweet. Now we have two 2 CF's with superior defense to Pagan that will hardly ever see time there.
Well, there's our platoon. I would've liked a bigger bat, but I guess it could be worse.
ROARacle!

andres torres is no doubt a giants legend for what he did in 2010, however it is frustrating to know that we are now out on Swisher because of Torres (who is really a 5th OF)...also as #24 said Torres could've been had by the giants likely for a minor league deal
Torres fared well last year against lefties but was terrible against them in 2010 & 2011...
I'm sure he'll be used against righties since he's pretty bad against lefties. But yes, it's ****ing ******** how we can't bring in Swisher.
