Yeah, he's Korean. Contrary to the way I posted it, he'll go by Chang-Yong Lim over here.

Now I'm confused, Brett over at BN is making it sound like he's still recovering from the TJ surgery and won't be getting a major league deal. I can't find anything on when he had the TJ done though.

Edit: He had the surgery in July, which makes this move even more curious.

2014: A small chance of Javy Baez in September and a fully healthy Lim Chang-Yong. It's all coming together.

I know they have some great names.
I remember Dice K had the "gyro ball" or something like that.
And that dude the White Sox had years back with the "frisbee" that just got hammered after his first time through the league

Wow he won't even pitch until 2014 and Second Tommy John surgery? Guess I'll have to see this.

If its true that the contract is only worth up to $5 million who cares? At that price its worth taking a flyer on him to see if he can come back from it. It isn't like they are on the hook for a huge long term contract or some horrendous posting fee.
French writer Alexis de Tocqueville warned about when visiting this fledgling democracy in the early 19th century that this "American republic will endure until politicians realize they can bribe the people with their own money."
