So the mets think Dickey is a superstar when talking trades, yee they wont pay him like one.

They offered him 2/20, he asked for 2/26, they said "no".

Jesus. No wonder he's pissed. Good thing is probably wont trade him to an NL east team, that would crush them. So we have some leverage.

I also dont want to give away Lee for a near 40 year old. Theres gotta be an alternative.

    WTF Lee?!
I'M down to get R.A but not for our best pitching prospect.

Imagine 2 Power Arms and then a great knuckle ball pitcher in the playoffs!

Yea Ned is an idiot for offering our best pitching prospect for a near 40 year old knuckleballer.

Whatever happened to this franchise saying they wanted to make this a "win now" team but at the same team build up our farm? You say that and then offer your best pitching prospect the next day?

I doubt this seriously. Most teams don't call another gm and say "hey, how about dee Gordon and my best pitching prospect for your CY young winner?"

Even Ned, who is a suspect GM at best, would call to engage a conversation with the Mets GM and see if 1) they were serious about trading Dickey and 2) see what the Mets were looking for in return.

If the dodgers did offer those 2 the Mets would be silly not to take it. One of the best pitching prospects in the minors and a guy who can steal 65 bases is a pretty good thing. They are way overvaluing Dickey. Poor David wright. They will be rebuilding for 5 years and he will never get the chance to win a world series. How I felt about Kemp 2 years ago.

My 12 year old daughter saw his name on the tv and said "Raw Dickey"? I said no, R.A. Dickey. She then said "I sure hope he's never a dodger. I will always call him Raw Dickey and that would be sad for him" bahahaaaaaaa

The Mets are stupid for rejecting the offer.

The Dodgers should be happy about that one.

Dickey should age pretty well fwiw. Most signs point to his ability to still pitch at 45.

But still. I am wondering if this 'offer' was before or after Greinke signed.

i agree with this, and i think it would be interesting if he made it after grienke signed because that would give us 10 starters.

Guys i think your overrating our prospects, dee's value droped since his sophomore slump, and zach lee projects as a #2.

^ assuming he even gets there

this would have been a good deal for the Dodgers

and he would have signed a friendly extension too.
