I don't know how you can really hate Grandal leading off. His 13.7 BB% was legit. You could argue his power will dip considering the 'roids, but a .360 OBP is a very, very reasonable expectation for him and that's fine for a leadoff hitter. I'm not saying he'll repeat .394, but there's no reason he shouldn't get on base at a really solid clip.
Also, saying we'll start 50 games without a leadoff hitter and catcher is silly. Obviously we'll get a decent backup, considering the circumstances. And Crisp could move up to leadoff those 50 games if we don't get another high OBP guy. He'd be fine there for part of the season.

It's just very non conventional, that's all. I would probably just lead off Crisp. I don't think Grandal is a bad idea per the stats, but how do you think it's going to be viewed?
Also, that's all I meant about the first 50 games. You need to spend an earlier pick on a backup C.
