No way should this be compared to illmatic...good album, not great, certainly not illmatic level.

It's a damn good album, def converted me into a believer. It's nice to see artistry isn't completely gone from mainstream hip hop. The comparison to illmatic is probably just there to ruffle some feathers and stir up discussion for that blog or whatever the article is for. It's treading on sacred ground though.

Also, getting "killed" on track? It's not a competition FFS.

If gkmc were 40 minutes long, people would have a fit and name that as a downfall of the album.

not discrediting illmatic at all. but the length is something to look at. it's never complained about, but would be with a modern album. i think the length is really its biggest weakness.

to me, kendrick's showing on this 70 minute album is just as impressive as nas on illmatic's 40 minutes.

The album would have been better had he replaced the bad tracks I mentioned or just got rid of them completely

People that say this is a classic must have just started paying attention to lyrics or have listened to sooo much meek mill that when Kendricks dropped they just discovered music that doesn't glorify money every 2 bars

    I'm 22.

And Illmatic is in my top three.

So let's all stop being morons before you all look even dumber... if that's even possible.

Let's keep making fun of me for laughing and banging to a song that I admitted was terrible the day I heard it.

EDIT: Oh, Harden's Beard was a dupe. So Cromedome is the only one looking silly on this and is likely the only one who can't fully understand the point I was trying to make because he has such a hard on for 90's rap.

I didn't realize your age held that much of a deciding factor in your musical taste; thanks for letting me know.

You've made fun of "pop a molly music" (it's not even a real thing) in more posts than I've said that.

    Unbelievable.
