Do you remember when the Mets traded Francoeur to the Rangers for Arias and a bag of balls? Arias had a pretty good year in a platoon role with the Giants last season. I watched a number of Giants games and he got some huge hits down the stretch. He was considered an APH, just maybe the Mets are just misusing certain players when they arrive in Queens, just saying.
Next to nothing. If we are going to trade him, we are better off hoping he has a good first half and moving him at the deadline when his value will be higher.
Affordable Place Holders can still produce. You just can't count on them. Sure, in baseball, anything can happen. Look at RA Dickey for crissakes. But questions like these are based on probability and chances are, we're not going to get much value for Johan.
That shipped sailed a long time ago.
