Jen would probably have reported it if it was a great story. It'll go through.

He's lucky to get that money, if the deal hit a snag its likely because we're attempting to trade for a 1B. Or were buying more time to trade Salty.

Mercy Alive! Our free agents can't even stay healthy before signing on the dotted line.

What the **** did we ever do to piss off the baseball Gods this bad. We better travel by bus next season incase our team jet is doomed.

I love how everybody flips out about an article where the reporter is speculating because a press conference wasn't held yet. How about we wait for official word?

What 40 man problem? They have only 39 on the roster so they were in no way impeded from adding Napoli on the schedule they discussed last week based on roster considerations.

Speculation, just like it's speculation that there's something wrong with the physical.

Source: Too strong to say #RedSox's deal with Napoli is in "jeopardy." Some issues still to work through.

We need him to be more of a leader,” Ainge said. “There were just a couple situations where he was late this year, I don’t know if he was sitting in his car, but showed up late and the rest of the team was there. We have team rules and you have to be on time. He was fined for being late, he said he was stuck in traffic, and it’s just unacceptable.”

Not good. Hopefully this turns out to be just speculation.
With the deepest of regrets I am announcing that I will be leaving Pro Sports Daily. No reason in particular but wanted to thank everyone for a great 6 years here. Lots of great discussion and good poll series as well. Also fun re-drafts. Best of luck to you all in the future.

If for some reason Napoli doesn't end up here, Swishers chances of coming just took a jump.

correct me if I'm wrong, but if he did indeed fail this physical... wouldn't that be his second failed physical with Boston? (He failed a physical which prevented the sox from pulling a waiver trade for him 2-3 years back I believe)

Over the monster says "But Ken Rosenthal reports that the physical occurred on Monday, and the deal was scheduled to become official on Tuesday. Former general manager and current baseball analyst Jim Duquette reports that the Mariners didn't offer Napoli a contract because of concerns over his hip, and that only the Indians and Red Sox extended contracts. If you want to connect the dots, it's possible Boston doesn't like what they have seen on his hip, either. But, this is the Red Sox, so we're back to reworking the contract to compensate for this issue, rather than submitting a panic call to Adam LaRoche's agent asking what his client is up to these days."

    Interesting.
