Jones has def lost most if not all the ground he prev had. That injury made him miss some time which hasn't helped.
Five rounds went by in the 2000 draft... After 198 other players had been chosen, the Patriots drafted him in the sixth round.
Owner Robert Kraft recalls the night he was leaving the old Foxboro Stadium when he saw "this skinny beanpole" carrying a pizza. "He comes up and says, 'Mr. Kraft, I'm Tom Brady.' I said, 'I know who you are, you're our sixth-round draft choice from Michigan.' "And he looked me right in the eye and he said, 'and I'm the best decision this organization has ever made.' "

Lol, not really. He won't win.

And I really don't know. This is tough, and I haven't seen a ton of all of these guys/.

Going to become a homer fest.

Me too but I've easily seen him the most. I was tempting to vote him but I won't vote anyone.

Harrison is a beast. Been watching him all season. Always around the ball, in good position, has 3 INTS. And he can light you up!

Yeah I'm not voting either. I haven't watched enough of the options to make an informed decision.

Bobby Wagner for me. 109 tackles, 2 sacks, 1 FF, and 3 picks. Dude is a beast.

Probably a tight 3 horse race between Kuechly, Wagner, and David whoever plays better the last games will win it the stats are close.

Contrary to Norm's belief I think Hayward will be in the running for it. However I believe it will be a 3 horse race between Casey Hayward, Lavonte David, and Chandler Jones.

    I say David though.

Tampa Bay had the 32nd rush defense last year, and the number 1 rush defense this year. Lavonte David has been a huge part of that, his impact on this team is what should make him DROY.

He is currently 3rd in the league in TFL with 17, behind only J.J. Watt and Von Miller. Those guys have 17.5 and 16.0 sacks respectively. Lavonte David has the most non-sacks TFLs in the NFL.

Kuechly and Wagner have put up big tackling numbers as well but I think Lavonte stands out in one key area.

    Player...............Total Tackles...Solo....Assist
    Luke Kuechly...... 130 79 51
    Lavonte David.... 117 94 23
    Bobby Wagner.... 109 67 42

Lavonte is a little shy of Luke's total tackles number, but when you take a closer look you see David has 15 more solo tackles(which IMO are more meaninful and impressive) than assisted tackles. If they were to be weighted as they are in sacks(1.0 for solo, 0.5 for assist) Lavonte would slightly edge out Kuechly and both have better numbers than Wagner. This plus the TFLs and non-sack TFLs along with his impact on the defense itself I believe make Lavonte David deserving of DROY
