Trade: The Mets need SS, C, RP, and OF help and have been reported to be shopping Jon Niese. By sending Marrero, Saltalamacchia, Jacobs, and Miller, the Red Sox are filling the holes the mets are looking for. By acquiring Jon Niese, the Sox get a cost-controlled pitcher who would provide 175+ innings of 3.5-4.00 ERA baseball.
Free Agency: By signing Ross, Napoli, and Swisher, the Red Sox upgrade in the OF, at C, and at 1B. The versatility of the free agents enables the Red Sox to use their splits to full advantage by playing them at different positions around the field. By signing Karstens, the Red Sox acquire a pitcher who will provide them with 160+ innings of 4.00 ERA baseball and a cheap insurance option in case Lackey implodes. Both Karstens and Niese do not have particularly high HR rates, which will help them pitch effectively in the AL East.

I like this one. Lackey would be my default 5th and Niese 3rd over Doubront though. Not too unrealistic either. (Marrero would be a PTBNL by the way)

Only thing im not keen on is signing Swisher and losing a pick for him.

    Yes. It's good.

6/27/09: “We expect [Rondo] to play by the rules and be a leader as a point guard. We need him to be more of a leader,” Ainge said. “There were just a couple situations where he was late this year, I don’t know if he was sitting in his car, but showed up late and the rest of the team was there. We have team rules and you have to be on time. He was fined for being late, he said he was stuck in traffic, and it’s just unacceptable.”

told you all since 2010 he was a toolbag.....
