don't sleep on Youk, he's gonna be key for us, he's gonna be a good hitter high 200's low 300's... he's gonna redeem himself, like the toughness and emotion, we lacked that for many years

They are spending $40M on 3B this year. Hopefully they can piece together a full season between Youkilis and ARod.

but seriously, the Martin thing still baffles me. Can't help but to think that was just a goof by the FO...

That very well could happen, but nothing really points in that direction.

It's what it feels like. As incredible as he was in his prime, he seems to be in decline. And Ichiro feels like the same thing. We could have gotten similar production out of some dirt cheap options and maybe brought our catcher back, but I guess the appeal of the former all star trumps current production.

Its not a great sign when we have to find reasons why half our lineup might be rejuvenated and redeem themselves.

I actually like the idea of Ichiro, yeah he's lost a step or two but man is that guy a professional hitter.

But I will root for him obviously. And it is KILLING my MAfrirnds where I grew up. The ultimate kick in the nuts. Can Varitek still catch?

Youk will excel on the big stage for sure. He's playing for another multi year contract and will have an excellent year. Arod won't play the field much so Youk will get his 500 ABs and have a monster year. .300 / 25 / 90 with a .400 OBP in our lineup. He will see lots of fastballs and get lots of walks if he gets hot.
