Did Anna Benson air anything????
He has a right to be vocal about his situation.
He's mad about the non committal ******** this team is putting forth.
Just leads me to believe that much more they are going to deal him either now or by July.
He is not David Wright who will sugar coat **** because he got his money and rightfully so.
The funny thing is if the Mets offered him a Ollie Perez type deal he would probably sign up in a heartbeat.
Did they expect him to completely ignore the press at this public event? Sounds like something the Wilpons would expect.

But this guy is not Oliver Perez...
You could put Dickey's last 3 years up against almost any pitcher in baseball.

The full list of pitchers with an ERA- between 75 and 80 over the last three years: David Price, Cole Hamels, CC Sabathia, Felix Hernandez, Gio Gonzalez, Matt Cain, and R.A. Dickey. That’s his group of peers, not based on one great year, but on three excellent seasons where Dickey has been one of the game’s best starters.

And if he is asking 3yrs/31, i don't really get the Mets objection.
ding ding ding ding ding ding!!!!!
Sportswriters don't go to these events to hype them. They go there to get access to the players they need to speak to for their stories of the day. And the event gets mentioned in the story so it's a win win for all concerned.
The idea that Dickey isn't supposed to answer questions about the Mets dissing him in these contract negotiations is absurd.
Shame on the Mets for not knowing better*
*Disclaimer: There's always a chance that Puma's report is BS. My post is based on the assumption that it isn't. But it's an assumption nonetheless.
Now the Zen master says, "We'll see."
The Mets... what a joke of an organization. Seriously why are we so horribly run?
How about a headline where the fans are upset with Mets ownership?
Of course. But if true, we don't really know what "not happy means" anyway. Not happy could also equal "ambivalent." Someone connected "not happy" to the Wilpons. John Ricco could have said, "Eh. Not the best place for that." The writer runs to say the Mets are not happy, and the fans overreact. Typical. Fans look for any reason mp matter how shallow it is to crucify someone they hate.

Dickey is a big boy. I'm sure he understands that Alderson is not being aggressive with contract negotiations in order to buy time to explore the trade market. IMO, it was poor judgement to choose the holiday party to open up and put pressure on the FO. He probably did it because he is frustrated that the process is taking this long.
He knows full well that in the final analysis the club will do what is in their own best interests, and he has no control over the situation since he is already committed to a $5 million salary for this season. If he were to give Sandy an ultimatum to extend him now or cut off negotiations until he is a FA next fall, he'd be cutting off his nose to spite his face. The risk that he'd have a mediocre season and lose bargaining power would be too great. He just needs to play a waiting game and see how things play out. If Sandy cannot get the deal he wants, R.A. will get his extension. All this talk about letting him play out the season without a deal is just talk, stupid talk.
