    Ichiro doesn't hit any better the 2 out in RISP then he does when no one is on base, the averages are the same for him. So it doesn't make him clutch. He just never changes his approach. That's all.

    Some of you people kill me.
    The funny part of his statement is gardner is a 4th outfielder and defensive replacement, yet the yankees actually plan on making him the starting CF this year and sliding granderson over to left.

    I understand the reasons not to sign Ichiro (i.e., too similar to Gardner, singles hitter, aging), but I'm still in favor of bringing him back. He is a different kind of hitter than most of the Yankees, always looking for contact and usually making it, and he has (and uses) his speed, which most of our guys don't.

    this has become one sad off season that we're excited about a 39 year old slap hitter.

    All about balance. Ichiro is someone we can pair up with Gardner as our base stealing guys. We have two all or nothing hitters in Tex and Grandy, which you can expect about 70 homers from them, so no need for that. And we have guys who hit for average in Jeter and Cano, Cano coming with power as well. I like the move. Youk and A.J. and I wouldn't complain if we didn't do anything else.

    Not to mention, IF we were to go into 2013 with Itchy, Gardner, and Grandy, we easily have the fastest OF in baseball. Yankee Stadium is going to look like a softball field with those guys out there lol

    No kidding. I wasn't overly thrilled with him as a 4th OFer behind Swisher, Granderson, and Ibanez. Getting excited about him as a starter is tough.

    Like it or not - this is Hal's team and he is certainly doing it his way. George is probably turning in his grave right now but for Hals sake - this better work or he will lose a lot more than he is trying to save at the moment.

    Swisher = def not happening
