Are you shocked Devin Harris never become a star?

Going back to his days in Wisconsin he was an athletic freak of a PG. His first 6 seasons in the NBA he got better every year. He was a defensive stud on an elite team in Dallas and looked like he was going to blossom into a star after being traded to NJ and making the allstar team in 2009. He averaged 21 points and 7 assists with 1.7 stls his first full season under Lawrence Frank and was widely considered a top-5 PG after that season. He then fell off a cliff. For Anbody who watched ball seriously before 2004 are you shocked this guy never blossomed into a perennial allstar?

No because I always felt he was over rated. I never expected or believed he could be a star.

I never thought he would be a star but I was definitely surprised by how steep his decline was. He just was never really great at anything on offense. He could get by people but was never a great distributer, and never really improved his outside shot all that much.

A little while after he got traded to the Nets they asked him to score the ball more. Once they did that he got lazy on D and he stopped setting up his teammates. Since that happened he hasn't been very good.

Quite a bit. I thought for sure that Dallas made a mistake trading away Devin, a future all-star/top-3-Pg, for an Old, Declining Kidd at that time. I am definitely eating crow on this one

I'm more shocked at how bad he fell off after those first couple years in NJ.
