straps and a belt literally add about 100 pounds to my deadlift.
I've never tried them.
isnt part of the dead lift supposed to be grip strength though? thats what is great about that lift. it works forearms, lower back, traps, biceps, core, legs ...

Dont use them
ive used straps in the past for deadlifts. I now use mixed grip and can lift as much as I could with straps so my grip isnt the limiting factor anymore.
I love straps for heavy dead and heavy shrugs. Don' t use them on light to moderate weight because I want to strengthen my grip

I got the free pair with my last order from BB but I never take them with me. I figure it's best not to, to strengthen my grip
I use the sally straps for heavy deads and shrugs.
And now that I hurt my right wrist I use them when I do anything with db until it heals
i got a cheap pair on bb.com a while back, but I don't use them very much. I only use them for shrugs, dumbell rows, and if I'm doing pullups late into a workout I might use them. I don't use them for kipping pullups though.
I think chalk is way better than straps. i use chalk on everything.

I like straps, only on back day and only for a few exercises. I use chalk for chest and shoulders though
Limitations are for people that have them, and excuses are for people that need them.
Your grip isnt going to get any stronger using straps.
Considering your grip strength is used in so many exercises, I think its fairly important you ditch them.
our gym banned chalk.... and until my wirst heals I will be using them alot... When I feel that its fully healed ill go lighter on deads and shrugs to get some grip strength back.
