Tebow to Jaguars "a virtual certainty"

League sources say it is a virtual certainty Tim Tebow will land a job back home with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2013.

    Tebow
Tebow reportedly will be traded or released after the season, but league sources say the Jets are likely to honor Tebow's forthcoming request to be released and therefore become an unrestricted free agent.

Circumstances in Jacksonville have changed since Tebow chose the Jets over the Jaguars when he was traded by the Denver Broncos in March.

Jacksonville owner Shad Khan wanted Tebow, but there was no assurance that the former Heisman Trophy winner would get an opportunity to play because the team was still committed to 2011 first-round pick Blaine Gabbert.

In 2013, the Jaguars will have an open quarterback competition and a team source conceded it's a "high likelihood" Tebow will be part of the mix.

Gabbert was inconsistent again as a starter and eventually landed on injured reserve this season. Chad Henne assumed the starting role and has had his own streak of inconsistency on a team that has been riddled by injuries.

The Jaguars offered a fourth-round pick to Denver in March and proposed to pay $3 million to the Broncos to compensate for money that had been advanced to Tebow. The Broncos gave Tebow his choice of teams and the former Florida quarterback decided his opportunity to play in New York was greater than Jacksonville, based on conversations with Jets coach Rex Ryan, sources said.

The Jets gave up fourth- and sixth-round draft choices to Denver and received a seventh-rounder in return from the Broncos when Tebow chose New York. The Broncos also agreed to pay the Broncos $2.53 million, or about half of what had been advanced to Tebow.

Tebow has played very little with the Jets and was bypassed by third-string quarterback Greg McElroy when Ryan benched Mark Sanchez as a starter this week.

Sanchez is slated to be the No. 2 quarterback Sunday when the Jets play the Chargers. Tebow is not expected to be active, sources said, though no formal announcement on his status has been made by the team.

Tebow needs to come to GB and let MM work with him for a year or two and then it would be Tebow>Henne>Yo Gabba Gabbert

The Jags should give this job to Tebow. Not because he'll be particularly good, but because he'll sell a **** ton of tickets and merchandise in that market if he's playing. It's not like the Jags have much of a shot of being good in 2013 anyways.

actually the jags could be Playoff Contenders IF the Defense is upgraded some at CB and some more pass rush.

the jags offense has played reasonabley well considering the Lack of a Rushing Offense because OF MJDs injury and some crappy LG play(i think we are at our 4th starter there so far. weve had Britton, Taylor(Street FA at the time we signed to start), Brewster(UDFA rookie), and now UDFA rookie Pazstor.

jags need to solve the LG and Center areas and get more consistent play out of Bradfield(he plays good and bad and is just inconsistent).

ill buy the jersey stuff well because he sells jerseys regardless of wat team he is on.

the tickets however wont really improve that much and the case and Point is look at the attendence of the jets game and the ticket sales of tomorrows Pats game.

the jags rank 32nd in rush defense and 32nd in sacks. the jags passing Offense with HENNE without a respectable Rushing game(we have 11 RBs/FBs on our whole roster counting PS and IR with 7 on the 53 man). the defense has to improve and the problem from which ive seen is the Jags corners lack of ability to cover wrs and a Lack of pass rush. the run defense seems flukish to me but if we can get a DT or LB that can solve it then sure lets add him.

add a few CBs(FA and draft combined), backup S(prosinski is average), a DT(knighton could leave and regressed this year because of his eye injury), De(we dont get pressure on the qbs). i wouldnt be mad at all if we kinda went all defense in the draft and Free agency to fix it.

Oh right, they could be a playoff team if they upgrade their corners, pass rush, offensive line play, wide receiver depth, overall quarterback play, and play calling on both sides of the ball.

But other than that, yeah. They're right there with the best of them
