    Aldridge vs Griffin

Who would you take. If you had a good team, which player do you think could push your team into contention.

Me personally believe that Lamarcus would be better because he can do many different things. While Griffin on the other hand is an athletic freak, but i feel like thats all he has in his game. He cant shoot, hes not a great defender. I feel like Lamarcus is a guy who can get u boards, play defense, and score. He is also consistent, something Blake Griffin struggles with. When he has a bad game its a very bad game. He just had 4 points against the Hornets. I truely believe that Griffin can only dunk, and thats the only skill he has.

Alridge can rebound and play better defense? It sounds like you just started this thread just to bash on Griffin. Griffin is a better rebounder and his defense is improving this year.

For Alridge I think he's plateaued. He doesn't seem like hes going to improve a lot better than he already is now. Griffin is working on getting a consistent jumper which looks alot better this year than last. He needs to be more solid on defense and learn to shoot free throws better but anyone that would pick alrdige over griffin is out of their mind

LOL this argument had some validity to it last year but even then it was pretty easily seen that Blake is the superior player. Now its become a joke
Yo Kobe, get at me bro, we'd have a good time, man

Blake. Better rebounder (by a sizable margin), passer (by an even larger margin), becoming better than LMA defensively and equally as good a scorer.

    Blake Griffin.

I'm an Aldridge fan, and I can't stand BG... But this is no contest.

Andrew Luck, Robert Griffin III, and Colin Kaepernick walk into a bar... To watch Russell Wilson win the Super Bowl.

    Becoming?... as in not yet?

I'll clear up any ambiguity for you: LaMarcus Aldridge is "hands down" a better defender than Blake Griffin...

    Their last 3 years:

    PER:
    Aldridge 21.6
    Griffin 22.5

    TS%:
    Aldridge .548
    Griffin .552

    Usage:
    Aldridge 26.2%
    Griffin 26.9%

    Ortg:
    Aldridge 113
    Griffin 112

    WS/48:
    Aldridge .160
    Griffin .168

It looks pretty even. Griffin is playing better right now and is still only like 24 or something crazy, but to sit here and act like Aldridge can't touch Griffin is a little overstated...

Based on the first quarter of this season Blake has been better defensively than LMA ever has in his entire career, but it's too small of a sample size for my liking.

I only did that because it was the 3 years Aldridge was actually the "main man" on the Blazers and it coincided with all of Griffin's time.

If you want to look at just last year the numbers are still very similar

    PER:
    Aldridge 22.7
    Griffin 23.4

    TS%
    Aldridge .560
    Griffin .557

    Ortg
    Aldridge 113
    Griffin 113

    WS/48
    Aldridge .169
    Griffin .185

There is no clear winner there. As far as thus far who is playing better I'd say Griffin because Aldridge is just not putting the ball in the hole with his usual efficiency (consider he's normally a 49.3% FG shooter and he's shooting 45.7% this year).

I think it's inevitable that Griffin will pass Aldridge given his work ethic, physical abilities, and basketball IQ but to say he's so much better right now at this moment that it's a joke of a comparison is going too far...

    I'm going with Griffin here.
    Favourite Teams:

Boston Red Sox: 46-52, games this week vs. Blue Jays (4), Rays (3)
Indianapolis Colts: Good draft and off-season so far.
Looking for new NBA team to cheer for
Ottawa Senators: 37-31-14, season over, free agency begins this week.
