Royals acquire Shields and Davis from Rays for Myers and prospects

Dayton Moore seems like the type of guy you could sell volcano insurance to.

Don't get me wrong i like Odorizzi quite a bit but Montgomery hasn't lived up to his hype quite yet.

His control leaves a lot to be desired.

3 BB/9 is not "a good amount." Unless by "good amount" you mean better than average. He's a finesse pitcher and he's young. He'll walk even less as his career moves forward (he had elite level BB/9 in the minors).

Good amount to his low K numbers. Sure walks a good amount and k's too few for being a finesse pitcher!

Shields is a pretty good pitcher. I just don't see the Royals making a push this season.

And by the way, those pants, they belong to my dad.And they're not really pants,
    they're Lederhosen

Maybe Montgomery, but Odorizzi should be a solid #3. And Leonard is no slouch either either, and could be a nice prospect down the road. They gave up way too much.

Of course they did. The Rays won the trade everyone agrees. But Odorizzi is more than likely a back end starter and Montgomery is more than likely a reliever. Still value there, but those of you freaking out over their inclusion is a little much. Getting Myers was the crown jewel here, Odorizzi is a nice 2nd piece.

I'm not sure you know what a finesse pitcher is if you're focusing on strikeouts.
