Another instance when people seem to be against platoons. If Smoak is better against lefties than he is, then he should play. If not, Casper can DH with Morales staying at 1st. Or even Bay if he happens to look good (which he wont)

I am thinking about buying 13. Kicks the **** out of 2k franchise I assume. I have about 4 different franchises, each with a different hitter. One with Swisher, one with Morse, one with Ethier, one with Cargo.

Thing is, I havent really done anything in them but sit there and think about it lol. I have a problem

Yeah. I'm constantly surfing my phone looking at other teams seeing how I can improve. I have a problem.

Jaso has only had 151 PA in his carrer vs. LHP. He's earned the chance to be the starting catcher.

Not if he hits .200 against them. Theres no reason to believe that will change IMO

He's been given less than 200 chances... How is that enough time to write him off?

His career OBP vs. LHP is .302. That is higher than Ackley and Montero's OBP from last year.

EDIT: To be clear, I'm not saying Jaso should start every game, but he should defiantly be in the lineup almost everyday.

Yeah, and a .230 SLG. He can take a walk against a lefty, woo hoo. If Smoak out hits him against lefties (which he probably will) then he should play.

I didnt say you can write him off. I said I dont think he will improve. No reason to think he will

I'm just a firm believer that consistent playing time helps players perform. Never getting the chance, I'm sure has some affect on his mentality.

Team full of guys that get on base is more valuable to me that a team of guys that can occasionally hit the ball hard.

I think there are plenty of reasons to think he will... Just becuase he has done poorly in such a small sample size shouldn't be reason to think he cannot improve.

And that doesn't change the fact that in his career his OBP against lefties is better than Ackely's and Montero's OBP from last year...

He has been awful against lefties dude. Its not like he has been okay and could get better. He has been horrible against them.

You can hope all you want, but to think there are lots of reasons he will improve doesnt make sense. There is nothing that points to him being able to improve. He has been bad in all of his opportunites, however small. Its not like he was good one year, then bad the next. He hasnt shown any flashes in my opinion.

And OBP isnt some be all end all stat. His career line is .164/.302/.230/.532 -- .257 wOBA -- 61 wRC+. He can take a walk against lefties, and thats about it.
