I think this move means Smoak will be going to AAA with Ibañez and Morales splitting 1B duties.

I'll leave when I'm good and ready

Splitting? Raul shouldn't take anything away from Morales.

well even after a few hours i still find this to be a useless signing
Yeah, that's why I thought it was a great situation for Smoak. He can platoon with Jaso and or Kendrys, hit from his stronger side, and take some pressure off.
who knows maybe they seriously want to play him in left with Bay. i dunno

“To the people in Seattle that trust me and believe in me, I’ll say this: I’m not going to disappoint anybody. I’m going to do my best. This Seattle Mariners team is going to be on top. Believe me…I will do my best, or more than my best, to get to the point of the playoffs. I’m not going to disappoint Howard and Chuck. I’ll tell you this: We are going to make the playoffs.” - Felix Hernandez
The Ibanez signing is better than the Bay signing. I'll say that.
Like I said, the Bay signing gets worse with every day that passes![]()

Yeah, it's the money that gets me. Ibanez at $500k > Bay at $500k, but Bay at $500k > Ibanez at $2.75M
Honestly the money doesn't bother me that much. It doesn't take that much skill to even be worth $5M-$8M. It's still puzzling, but whatever.
I just don't get why Bay is on the roster. Like, it makes absolutely zero sense.

The money thing kinda gets me but its also i think he isn't that good offensively anymore don't let Yankee Stadium fool you and even in his younger days he was not a good outfielder.
I mean go look at when he went off the bench those home runs he hit would not go out in most ball parks they just carried because of the jet stream at Yankee Stadium just like Granderson's power numbers would go down away from Yankee Stadium.

The Indians can afford to do this since there 1st round pick is protected top 9 are now wish it was like the old rule first 15 are protected.Nick Swisher is giving "serious consideration" to the four-year, $52MM offer from the Indians according to ESPN's Jim Bowden (on Twitter). The switch-hitting outfielder prefers the Dodgers, Angels, or Yankees though.

Does the Ross signing in Arizona help the Mariners in anyway? Say maybe making a guy like Upton or Kubel available to us in a trade? We still have all our assests and they may want a couple of nice pitchers depending on which one we get?
