    Matt harvey

how many years do we have control of matt harvey? I'm sorry to ask in a post but I've tried finding out from searching the web. I know we have control of all our minor leaguers for 6 years once they play at the mlb level, but harvey only pitched 60 innings this year does that count as 1 of the 6 years we would have control of him, since it wasnt a full season?

Depends. Do you have any loose change in your couch? We're saving up to keep him through the New Year.

If you need to know a player's controllability this site can help.

    http://www.baseball-reference.com/

Type in the player and it will tell when they can be possible FA.

    Harvey isn't a FA till 2019 (2018 offseason going into 2019)

I'm worried about locking him up long term with Boras his agent. I feel it's a safe bet that Harvey will be a beast moving forward, so I'd look to lock him up asap and try to buy out some of his free agent years.

Yeah i would look to lock him up next year if he pitches well.

I think he would take the guaranteed money knowing he isn't arbitration eligible till 2016.

I think Boras will advise him to take all the money he can get through arbitration.

If I am Boras, I'm starting to count Greinke money already.
