naps was instigating and baiting, and V-Man took the bait and insulted him, and just got banned again.

He's lucky to get any playing time. Dwight, Jamison, & Hill are all better than sissy Paula.

Yeah and it took the mot prolific streak of Kobe's young career at the time to make that turn around

Not going postal. I've read that specific poster call out Gasol for using his injury as an "excuse". I'm just calling out hypocrisy.

The argument is that D'Antoni will never do that because of his system, but I don't buy that argument -- or at least I'd like to think that "offensive geniuses" are smarter than some idealized philosophy of basketball.

If D'Antoni really is a great coach -- and if he senses the opportunity he has -- then he'll do what all great coaches do: modify the offense and defense to feature the skills of the players on the team. Maybe LA doesn't have ideal players for run-and-gun, but it's still got good players, and a really great coach would make the most of them.

So in the end I see the next few months as a real referendum on D'Antoni. Can he figure out how to make the most of what he has? We obviously won't know that until everyone's healthy. If things look ugly at the end of February I wouldn't have any problem with focusing on D12's future.
I agree with those paragraphs I quoted, and with the bold part in particular. I'm in D'Antoni's corner, but if he's unable to employ Gasol to the benefit of the team, it should count as a significant "Fail" in his coaching report card.

Whether "the pieces fit" or they don't fit should not be an issue. The fact is, he's got a significant lineup of talent, in particular with the starting five. A good coach ought to be able to do SOMETHING good with this - if not a championship, a Conference Final at the minimum. The great coaches don't need the pieces to fit perfectly into their pre-determined strategy. Assuming there is talent on the team (and there certainly is, on par with any team in the league), the great coaches find success in fitting their strategy to the pieces they have.

That's what he was at Loyola, but he was fired from the Lakers, if anything, for not being D'Antoni enough. Magic wanted to run.

Westhead completely changed his style when he went to LMU.
