Decrease because he literally had 1 singles match after 7 years and is now WWE Champion. Didn't earn it. However making him champion would probably bring more publicity to the sport, which is why I think they will put the belt on him even for a few months.

It really does nothing for me. One could argue that this is the Rock and he'll bring mainstream attention to it and the company but on the flipside people will say a part timer winning hurts it. The way I see it nothing really changes. If this were any other celebrity it would probably hurt the belt but because this is The Rock, a guy whose been in this business and established himself here, nothing changes.

Decreases. Reason is Rock won't even be there every Monday. How lame would that be? The Champ not even on the show. He'll be in the Raw main event via satelite. I'm hoping Lesnar comes out and helps Punk win. Then they can set up Rock vs Brock at WM. The Rock should not end Punk's streak. He'll be champion for 400+ days just to lose it to a guy who's not a full time wrestler? That'd suck.

It wouldn't decrease. Rock should bring more attention to it than punk does/did. I don't think it would increase by a substantial amount though. Rock would probably be more interesting than punk

Hard to answer without knowing Rock's schedule and everything he is suppose to be involved in. This isn't David Arquette winning the title though. This is a top 5 superstar of all time who has been champ 7 times prior.

Even the main negative, which is Rock's schedule, only has short term ramifications. As long as he drops the belt at WM, which it what will happen, everything will revert back to normal. If they can figure out a way to have Rock wrestle at EC then I would have no problem with it. Especially if he only misses 1-2 raws during his whole WM buildup.

The 1-2 raws he misses, and house shows without him, can be made up for.

Well I love Rock(pre-pg era) and he has gone over the 3 top faces besides himself of the last 30 years... I think he knows its time for him to put over the guy of this era. Im not a Cena fan but I do feel that he should beat Rock otherwise to me it will basically be saying Cena was good but not good enough to hang witht he greatest guys of all-time. Yes he has beaten Hbk/HHH/Angle/Taker(I think)/Lesnar but lets face they arent the top guys in wwe history like SCSA/Rock/Hogan are those are the guys and Cena is pushed like he belongs there.....

my problem are those who are okay with taker beating punk in a streak v streak match but those same people dont want rock to beat punk at the rumble cause hes a "part time" wrestler

also rock may be "part time" but hes no celebrity hes a wwe legend and one of the greats of all time if he wants one he should get it, same for stone cold, same for trips, same for taker if your an all time great and want a match for the belt as long as your willing to work put on a show and be there and show up occasionally to further storylines i wouldnt have a problem

as far as the question i really dont know the answer. rock gives the belt more media attention but does media attention = more importance to wwe title? i dont know i really dont know

i guess it depends on how the rock is used and how often he shows up. i expect him only to show up a few times maybe twice a month until after EC where he could show up to basically every RAW like he did last year

So just because they are legends they should get a match just because they asked? What about Flair/Hogan/Sting/Booker/Foley/Hart all asked for championship matches would you give ti to them too? I couldn't disagree more. If Im in the back it basically tells me " Your good enough to be int he lockeroom but your not good enough to fight for the belt over a part-time or one match guy".....
